Is the free plan really free forever?
Yes. UptimeMatrix offers a free forever plan with no credit card required. You can use the free plan for as long as it meets your needs. When you need more monitors, faster checks, longer data retention, or team features, you can upgrade — but upgrading is optional, not required. Your existing free monitors will never be stopped.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. You can start monitoring your website without adding a credit card. We only ask for payment details if you choose to upgrade to a paid plan.
What happens when I reach the free plan limits?
Nothing breaks. Your existing monitors continue running, alerts continue working, and you can still access your data. If you want to add more monitors, increase check frequency, or unlock advanced features, you'll be prompted to upgrade at that point.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan anytime?
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades apply at the end of the billing cycle. No long-term contracts for self-serve plans. Enterprise plans follow the terms agreed during onboarding.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards for self-serve plans. For enterprise customers, we also support invoice-based billing, annual contracts, and custom payment arrangements (on request).
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are handled according to our Refund Policy. Because monitoring services are delivered immediately after activation, refunds are limited. However, billing errors or accidental charges are always reviewed fairly. We recommend starting with the free plan to evaluate the service risk-free.See our refund policy
What's the difference between self-serve plans and Enterprise?
Self-serve plans are designed for individuals, startups, and small to mid-sized teams. The Enterprise plan is designed for large-scale monitoring, mission-critical systems, SLA and compliance requirements, custom limits and configurations, and dedicated support. Enterprise plans are tailored to your specific needs.
Is uptime or alert delivery guaranteed?
UptimeMatrix provides monitoring and alerting, not infrastructure control. While we operate a reliable monitoring platform, no monitoring service can guarantee 100% uptime or alert delivery. Monitoring results are provided on a best-effort basis and should be used as part of a broader reliability strategy.
How accurate is the monitoring data?
Monitoring checks are performed from multiple independent locations, helping reduce false positives. That said, external factors such as network issues, firewalls, or regional routing problems can affect results. For this reason, UptimeMatrix supports multi-location verification, alert suppression, maintenance windows, and recovery confirmation alerts.
